Ahavas Achim
Congregation Ahavas Achim is affiliated with the Orthodox Union Congregation Ahavas Achim has served central New Jersey for over 100 years as a center for prayer, learning, and charity. We aspire to create a peaceful atmosphere for religious life and growth as we serve G-d together.
Ahavas Achim strives to create a welcoming environment for every Jew. As a Torah-observant congregation, we respect and welcome Jews of every background.
Ahavas Achim stands committed to living a Halakhic life within the context of modernity—in our homes, at work, among our neighbors and peers, in volunteer organizations, and in political life.
Ahavas Achim aspires to create a sense of responsibility among our members and community, to inspire our members to acts of loving-kindness in everyday life.
Ahavas Achim sees Jewish education—in Torah and Talmud, in law, in history, in literature—as the foundation of the Jewish community. We strive to offer a broad program of study and discussion, one that strengthens both the vision and practice of every Jew.
Ahavas Achim values the presence and contributions of all. We offer all our members—men and women, children and elders—a wide range of opportunities to serve as leaders and participants in synagogue life.
Ahavas Achim considers the religious experience and education of our children a vital responsibility shared by all members of the community. We support parents and teachers in their efforts to raise children in a life of Torah, family, and good deeds.
Ahavas Achim looks to Israel as the fulfillment of the Jewish people’s destiny. We stand by Israel—the nation, the people, and the land—at all times.
Congregation Ahavas Achim pledges to live in every way according to the teachings of our Sages, of blessed memory. As a community, we commit ourselves to the service of G-d—to prayer, learning, charity, celebration, and acts of loving kindness.
